Call for Papers
The Society for Caribbean Linguistics (SCL), in collaboration with the Society for Pidgin and Creole Languages (SPCL), will meet in Guyana from 5 to 9 August 2024 for its 25th Biennial Conference. The Conference will be hosted by the University of Guyana, under the theme “Looking Back and Moving Forward: Innovations in Language Theory, Policy and Practice.”
Abstracts on all types of Caribbean languages are invited. Caribbean languages include spoken and signed languages, Amerindian languages, Creole languages, standardised, official and non-standardised language varieties, immigrant languages, heritage languages, endangered languages, and religious and ritual languages.
The conference organisers are especially encouraging abstracts pertaining to any of the following panel themes (other panel themes on Caribbean Languages and Linguistics may be proposed):
